7 Creative Ways to Transform Your Portraits into Works of Art: Wall Art Inspiration
In today’s digital world, I’m going to bet that each of you has a minimum of 1,000 images stored on your phones and computers not being displayed or enjoyed.
I want to start a series to help you with this dilemma by providing you with wall art inspiration each month including products available from Steve Holmes Photography. I’ll also discuss ways to get those camera phone images off your phone and printed in creative ways.
So, here are 7 creative ways to transform your portraits into works of art in your home.
1. Incorporate a favorite quote - this works especially well on a staircase2. Your photos are worth printing big3. Picture rails with matching frames like the ones linked here from Crate and Barrel is a great way to display your family portraits and adventures4. Vintage frames like the ones shown here on Pottery Barn's site is a great way to add interest to your wall display.5. Mix personal pictures with favorite pieces of artwork6. Family photos aren’t the only ones that should be printed big - include a photo from a family adventure or a favorite outdoor scene to provide an extra window in your home to a memorable place.7. Unify a photo display by similar photo size and style. Even convert the photos to black and white and use frames that have a similar style to remove some visual clutter. And, my tip this month on getting your camera phone photos off your phone, is to check out a company called Books to Me. They link up to your instagram account and send you books each month of all of your photos in a beautifully designed album for you to cherish. Stop saying you’ll do this someday, and have it done automatically for you! Follow me on Pinterest for more inspiration for your wall art!
