Infuse Your Unique Personality into Your Senior Portraits

Among my favorite senior portrait sessions are ones where clients incorporate their unique personalities and interests. I've included some recent sessions to help inspire you, and here are some tips to do the same for your session. What makes you, you? Can you usually be found running around the school track? Are you known to have a paintbrush in hand, working on your latest masterpiece?  Is a long, flowy dress what you prefer to wear? Your loves, style, and interests can infuse your unique personality into your senior portraits. Here are a few ideas to add a little you into your pictures.

Athletes. Let’s meet on the track, the football field, the baseball diamond. Wear part of your uniform. Bring a ball, your cleats, your racquet. When you’re involved in athletics, it's a big part of your school career and something you will still talk about years after you graduate.

Actors/Musicians/Artists. If a stage is your second home or your after-school hangout is a garage where you and your band jam for hours, let’s incorporate these locations into your photos. Not only will it be in a place where you’re comfortable, but it’ll also capture who you are.

Fashionistas. This is the time for your personality to shine.  However, remember that styles change, and in 10 years, you could look back on your pictures and say, “What was I thinking?” Your best bet is to stick with timeless pieces, but add some flair with a statement necklace, your trademark glasses, or your favorite color.

Animal Lovers. If you have an animal companion, you know they are a big part of your life.  Let’s capture that special bond with your four-legged friend by walking, riding around the pasture, or playing fetch. Being a senior in high school is a big deal, so take this time to show who you are and what you are into at this moment in your life.  It’s such an exciting time, and I’m excited to share your journey!
