Class of 2018 | Senior Portraits
Throughout my life, I have made two actions a priority in the work that I have chosen to do. The first is to work with students, and the second is to be outside! Before becoming a full-time photographer, I was an educator in many forms. These include working as a high school teacher and training outdoor educators in Alaska. As a photographer, one of my favorite parts of the job is working with the local students to create their senior portraits. Since I love to be outside, I try to include an outdoor session for each of my senior portrait clients. I like to get to know the client by asking them about their passions and interests, and then we find a location that suits their personality and style. Each client is unique and this creative challenge drives me to keep improving. I often ask my senior portrait clients to bring along items, clothing, or equipment that represent what motivates them. I love the diverse range of interests and talents that show up in those particular portraits. I feel privileged to meet these folks at such an important transition in their lives. Part of my goal is to empower these young people to feel beautiful and confident in the next stage of their journey. The graduating students of 2018 who passed through my studio are incredible. I'm so inspired by their different ambitions and directions. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors. It is my great pleasure to share the class of 2018 with you!
